Law enforcement agencies are used to enforce laws on the streets. Members of these agencies will become hostile to other pedestrians if they witness that they are committing a crime. Therefore, depending on the situation, they will hunt down or kill criminals (i.e. arrest the suspect if he is not hostile or kill him if threatened). A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a government agency responsible for law enforcement. In the Grand Theft Auto series, these agencies, especially the police force, serve as the protagonist`s main border to cause various crimes. This category also includes the character of the player, who can commit a large number of crimes ranging from kidnapping to murder. The attention the player receives from agencies depends on the player`s desired level, as local police authorities respond to “small” crimes, while commando units react to much more serious scenarios. In the HD universe, the player would be mainly chased by members of the local police department; in Grand Theft Auto IV, it is the LCPD, while Grand Theft Auto V contains the LSPD. One star officers usually attempt to stop the player, while two-star officers can also shoot the player with any form of aggression. At three stars, the police call the mavericks of the police to hunt down the player, and the main NOOSE units begin to send.
At four or six stars, most police officers are replaced by the FIB and military reinforcements (NOOSE).
